Fair question for most of us: What is Wimansarannawamin?

It is a pavillion in Chaloem Kanchanaphisek Park, also known as Golden Jubilee Commemoration Park in Nonthaburi province north to Bangkok in Thailand. The park was build to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the accession to the throne (9 June 1946) of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, who is the longest serving current head of state in the world.

The park can be easily accessed by Chao Phraya Express Boat Services. In less than one hour you can get from the center of Bangkok to Nonthaburi, cross there the river with a ferry and then take a tuk-tuk to the park. All cost about one dollar.

When we visited the park, it was like a quiet oasis compared to the noisy and crowded Bangkok – or any other city! We actually saw only five other visitors there.
